Capturing images and creating memories since 1993

Web Design by Joe Manio

Most photographers--those worth their equipment, anyway--are control freaks by nature. And as such, I taught myself HTML so I could design my website myself, and not be at the mercy of 1) outsourced web designers and 2) proprietary software.

My web design and overall computer knowledge and hands-on experience was given a major boost when I worked as network administrator and webmaster at Through the Looking Glass, a Berkeley non-profit, for 5 years.

I keep all the bells and whistles to a minimum, preferring a simple design over fancy bells and whistles. In other words, I favor substance over flash. Furthermore, I designed my website with functionality on both the newest computers and on old dinosaurs in mind.

However, if a client wants a fancier site (I am in the business of customer service), I can make their vision reality, using nuts-and-bolts HTML or programs like Dreamweaver.

If you like "simple and functional" web design, and think I could design a site for you...as with my photography work,"Give me a shot, and I'll give you my best shot!"™
