Joe Manio: Communications & Computer Professional

"Give me a shot, and I'll give you my best shot!"™ As owner and principal photographer of Joe Manio Photography, I have over 20 years of shooting experience as a photojournalist and service photographer. Photography is hard-wired into my very being, but I'm also adept at using the printed word and operating computers (both Windows and Macintosh).

Before launching Joe Manio Photography in 2005 (known in South San Francisco as ImageQuest Photography since 1993) I worked as a staff photographer at the San Francisco Examiner. If there's one thing 3 years at the Ex taught me, it was how to be more resourceful. Having an ecclectic but "usefully diverse" work history working effectively with both people and things helps.

Included in this history: I have prior experience working as a reporter, copy editor, page designer and photo editor. I've also worked as a webmaster, graphic designer and network administrator in the non-profit sector. I also served in the California Air National Guard as a non-commisioned officer in the 129th Air Rescue Wing Public Affairs Office, where I wrote for, edited and produced the monthly newsletter, plus managed the office.

My clients have included California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Campaign, the Democratic Party of San Mateo County, Washington Mutual, and other local businesses and individual clients. A longtime South San Francisco resident, I am also a member of the South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.

As a newspaper photographer, I worked by the philosophy "there are no 'small assignments'--only 'small photographers'" and I still hold to this philosophy to this day. Prospective employers or clients can view my review my resume here, and can also view my professional recommendations on LinkedIn.
